Project Outcomes

Project Outcomes

The development of Southern Light Respite’s website was an exciting project, focused on creating an online presence that mirrors the compassionate care they deliver.

Wakeford Digital worked closely with the Southern Light Respite team to design a site that was both modern and inviting, while also incorporating elements of accessibility features to cater to their diverse client base.

As a part of our ongoing effort to make web design Hobart easier for clients, we also did a content workshop with the Southern Lights team to help generate all written text for the website.

Reflective Design

The design reflects Southern Light Respite’s core values of empathy and client-focused care.

Clean lines, ample white space, and simple colour schemes contribute to a modern, accessible design that is both visually appealing and easy to navigate.

A key design feature is the use of the orange accents to draw attention to important sections, such as buttons and key services. This colour strategy helps guide users through the site while subtly reinforcing Southern Light’s commitment to being a beacon of support for their clients.

High-quality imagery of the facility  and services,(courtesy of Nina Hamilton) along with thoughtful design elements such as pop-out boxes with storytelling narratives, ensures that the website both informs and emotionally engages visitors, reinforcing the care-centric ethos of the business.

User-Centric Features

The Hobart website design also placed heavy emphasis on making the website as user-friendly as possible.

A dedicated new inquiry form was designed to simplify the process for potential clients, minimising the effort required while ensuring all necessary information is captured for the Southern Light team.

This feature helps streamline client communication, reducing the administrative requirements and ensuring quick response times.

Additionally, workflows were set up to allow Southern Light to manage and update the website easily, adding new services or features as needed. This flexibility ensures the website remains a dynamic and useful tool as the business continues to grow and adapt.

Another key feature of the website is its consideration to navigation, designed to simplify the visitor’s journey. Users can easily find important sections, such as the FAQ page, emergency contact information, and service offerings.

To accommodate future growth, the website was built utilising Webflow's flexible content management system (CMS), allowing the Southern Light team to easily add new services and update content as needed. A dedicated news and blog section has also been flagged for future additions to keep clients informed of any updates or special events.

Positive Initial Results

The Southern Lights Respite website was launched in September 2024 and since the launch of the redeveloped website, feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.

We’re looking forward to seeing how the website performs online and importantly, clients and potential visitors, have commented on the site’s user-friendly design and warm, welcoming tone.

We're really pleased to have helped Southern Light Respite be better positioned to connect with individuals in need of short-term accommodation and respite care in Hobart, while also continuing to grow their online presence.
