Followers of our social media may have recently seen a handful of filming segments around Hobart's Domain area with a fantastic running group.
Wakeford Digital has been busily working with EPIC and the City Of Hobart to capture the "Run For Free" program - which has seen a group of unrelated community members come together to train and work on their fitness with the aim of taking part in the 2024 Think Big Run The Bridge.
Along with a suite of general footage, which will be used in the short recap video as well as Instagram and Facebook content, our focus was on capturing the participants of the Run For Free program as they crossed the line - completing an epic three months of training.
It was incredibly rewarding to see the Run For Free crew cross the finish line at various stages in the morning - particularly having attending the very first session of the training.
Converse high tops and basketball shoes were replaced with suitable runners, as many of the participants who had never run before chipped away two times a week at the group trainings lead by local running coach Lee.
Check out the video below on our Run For Free participant feature, used by the official Run The Bridge social media as a build up to the event.
Along with the Run For Free focus, we were also on hand to capture all things finish line including some of the special moments of fun runners from around the state and country achieved their goals - no matter how big or small.
Aynadis Mebratu claimed the battle of the sexes for the women in 2024, closely followed by Robin Hendrix.
With a stunning morning on display at the Hobart waterfront, participant turn out was fantastic and a testament to the work of Richard and the EPIC team.
It's been fantastic to work alongside EPIC at the event for over five years now, in a variety of capacities, including event recap videography, live stream camera operator as well as the finishing arch banner animations which were also on display in 2024.
Something that can often get overlooked in the videographer/client relationship is short form content - such as reels or shorter snippets.
We've been working with Eliza from EPIC to promptly turn around some individual clips to help retain engagement beyond the event as well as compliment the vast photo galleries that participants expect.
Overall, we're incredibly appreciative to have been a part of the 2024 event - as we say congratulations to everyone who took part and we forward to helping share some of the footage in various formats over the coming weeks.
